The Trust PortThe Authority is a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal. The Authority is established by its own unique local legislation, namely the Cromarty Firth Port Authority Orders 1973 to 2003.The Authority exists solely to improve, maintain and manage its harbour undertaking and is an independent - stand alone - body administered by an elected Board and takes guidance from 'Modernising Trust Ports a Guide to Good Governance'. The Authority has no shareholders and no owners. There are no distributable profits but all profits are ploughed back into the harbour undertaking for the benefit of the Authority's stakeholders. The Authority funds its own investment activities from its own resources on a commercial basis and ultimately is accountable to the Scottish Government.
ManagementPolicy and strategic management of the port is the responsibility of the Board Members, who are selected for their experience and knowledge under procedures set out in Modernising Trust Ports a Guide to Good Governance. The management team, led by the Port Manager/Harbour Master, undertakes day-to-day operational management. CFPA has a permanent staff of 19.5 FTE covering all disciplines and services provided by the Authority. |
